Welcome To Carrbridge Carriage Driving

Learn how to drive a horse and carriage with a UKcc Level 2 Carriage Driving & Carriage Driving UK Accredited Coach.

We offer carriage driving lessons and courses at the Croft, within the picturesque Cairngorm National Park.

Whether your a complete beginner, or a novice driver wanting to improve you carriage driving skill, your lessons will be tailored to suit your level of competence.

We also offer a range of other services, from Special Occasion Carriage Rides, Picnic Carriage Rides to Funerals.

What We Do

There’s nothing I enjoy more than teaching people how to carriage drive, safely and correctly, with the traditional English Coaching Style of rein handling.

Whether it’s to go out for a jolly along a quiet country road with family and friends, or, if you’ve got higher aspirations and would like to show or compete in horse driving trials.

Safety First

All beginner lessons will be carried out with two sets of reins, a bit like having duel controls on a learner car.

When carriage driving, visibility is of paramount importance! Hi-viz vest will be provided for all persons on the carriage.

Please note that when driving in fields and along track, these may be bumpy, so this activity may not be suitable for people with back issues.

If you suffer from any health issues, please advise us when you make the booking, as a reasonable amount of mobility is required to mount the carriage.

Perfectly Trained Horses

We have 3 carriage horses, all being in the herd from an early age.

Holly and Lola, have both been trained to ride and drive by myself.

Benji was broken to ride autumn 2021 and is at present being broken to drive.

More about them later.
