We have a variety of lessons available.

Please note that lessons are carried out in our 2-wheeled gig, which has easy access.

Try Carriage Driving

 

In this session (2 hours), we'll discuss all aspects of safety, including horse and vehicle suitability, mounting and dismounting the vehicle and practice rein handling "English Coachman Style," on Dobbin, our simulator. We will also cover how to prepare the horse for driving, harness up and put to the vehicle.

 

All driving in this session is done with two sets of reins, like having duel controls on a learner car. 

 Once we have "put to", we'll set off and practice the three "S's", Starting, Stopping and Steering. When you feel comfortable at walk we'll progress to trot.

 

The remainder of the session is dedicated to safely unhitching and unharnessing the horse and taking care of the horse and equipment after the drive.

Hour Sessions


Aimed at more competent drivers, either with their own turn-out or one of mine, these hour sessions are more focused on the actual diving aspect of carriage driving and getting the best out of you and your horse/pony.


Its always good to have a goal, something to aim for, whatever your ability! 

So in our first session, we'll set a main goal, then break it down into "mini goals" that are the stepping stones to help you on your way to your dream. 


£65 per hour with my turnout.

£50 with your own turnout.

Book & pay for 5 or more sessions for a £5 discount per session.

(Travel Charge- £0.50 per mile)
